to preserve and protect
As you have probably read or seen here, quite a few of us enjoy hiking, backpacking and adventures in the outdoors. To preserve the awesome beauty we encounter on our expeditions, we feel it is of the utmost importance to operate our business in an ecologically friendly manner. Our partnership with Ricoh really ties this whole program together. While Ricoh has been recognized as a world leader in sustainable manufacturing and holds an ISO 14001 certification, Spectrum Business Centers continues these practices in our day to day operations. Below are just a few ways Spectrum Business Centers extends Ricoh’s environmental practices beyond what they as a manufacturer can provide:
- Spectrum continues to work with Ricoh to acquire end of lease equipment to be refurbished and placed back into the market rather that have it go to de-manufacture or landfill.
- Spectrum bulk collects used toner cartridges to return to Ricoh for remanufacture/recycling avoiding unnecessary shipping and waste of fossil fuels.
- Sub-assemblies from end of life equipment are rebuilt in-house to support equipment still in the field reducing the need for newly manufactured parts.
- Recyclable material such as aluminum and copper is collected on site from old equipment and sub-assembly rebuilding.
- Spectrum uses biodiesel in our delivery vehicles to reduce our dependence on fossil fuel.
